About Us

Company Registration: 2013/169911/07

Venus Resources (Pty) Ltd is a 100% Black community based company. It was established in  2013 by Ms Amogelang Ntletleng Mokoape. The company contributes to the development of areas around its place of operations in Johannesburg through social upliftment and environmental awareness programmes which it runs from time to time.

We are a communications firm specialising in the business of brand relevance in the wake of environmental awareness. Through Public Relations, the close management of your brand and those representing it, Venus aims to make your brand’s presence be felt among public and peers.

Venus prides itself on having its head in the clouds and its feet firmly on the ground and that translates itself in our forward and future-focussed thinking while keeping our finger on the pulse of the happenings of the present.

Here at Venus, sustainability is our favourite buzz word, not only because it connotes the ever growing reach and influence of the Green Economy, but because why not think of your brand as an entity not only thriving and contributing in this lifetime but one that can be sustained for future generations.

Africa, is indeed, open for business which is why Venus aims to present your brand in a uniquely African way while competing globally.

Amo has been in the communications field as front-and-centre and behind-the-scenes for most of her life. In the past 5 years, the expansive experience in what it takes to not only build a brand image in the eyes of the public but her hands on experience in what it takes to build a business makes her the perfect hands in which to trust your brand. Her experience ranges from and international communications company with multimillion dollar tech specified clients to a start up comms firm with NGOs on their client list.

With the innovative mind of a scientist (BSc Graduate), and the attention to detail of a file clerk, one gets all the range of skills on the spectrum. She is coupling her qualifications with vast experience in the field and has also completed the First Aid and Herbicide Applicator courses. The skills will help the company to deliver and realize its objectives and vision effectively and efficiently.

The company’s expertise has been recognized widely accross Gauteng and it has won the consecutive contracts in the working for water programme, contributing towards social upliftment and sustainable conservation.

The Environmental challenge we all face:

The business addressed the urgent challenge to manage alien plans and related water consumption and blocking of rivers.

  • Invasive alien species are plants, animals and microbes that are introduced into countries, and then out-compete the indigenous species.
  • Invasive alien plants (IAPs) pose a direct threat not only to South Africa’s biological diversity, but also to water security, the ecological functioning of natural systems and the productive use of land. They intensify the impact of fires and floods and increase soil erosion. IAPs can divert enormous amounts of water from more productive uses and invasive aquatic plants, such as the water hyacinth, effect agriculture, fisheries, transport, recreation and water supply.
  • Of the estimated 9000 plants introduced to this country, 198 are currently classified as being invasive. It is estimated that these plants cover about 10% of the country and the problem is growing at an exponential rate.
  • The fight against invasive alien plants is spearheaded by the Working for Water (WfW) programme, launched in 1995 and administered through the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry. This programme works in partnership with local communities, to whom it provides jobs, and also with Government departments including the Departments of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, Agriculture, and Trade and Industry, provincial departments of agriculture, conservation and environment, research foundations and private companies.
